Together with the nearby orienteering clubs OLG Bern and OL Regio Burgdorf a small team of experienced local organizers will make Bremgarten to the hot spot of the Swiss Orienteering community for a weekend. Whoever follows our event motto of „Hurry slowly“ will be successful when attending the Bremgarten O-Weekend 2022.
Furthermore, by involving the two current elite runners Daniel Hubmann and Simone Niggli in the organization, we adhere to our principle of “today’s world champions organize for future world champions” in order to ensure Switzerland’s future as one of the best orienteering nations.
The lovely forest of Löörwald-Riederewald covers an area of 1.7 km2 between the villages of Kirchlindach and Bremgarten. For the Middle distance the competition map is made by Urs Jordi in 1:10’000 and 1:7‘500 scale. Together with Simone Niggli he will be the course planner. The 3rd national orienteering competition will be organized as a parallel start with forked loops.

The village of Bremgarten covering 1,2 km2 is mapped for the first time on 1:4’000 and 1:3’000 scale by multiple World Champion and Bremgarten resident Daniel Hubmann. As an expert in Sprint orienteering he will plan challenging courses for the 4th national orienteering competition, assisted by Matthias Niggli (Sprint) and Bremgarten resident Daniel Leibundgut (Knock-Out Sprint).
In the early afternoon quarter- and semi-finals and finals of the Knock-Out Sprint for Elite and Junior classes are scheduled. This competition format is the newest and most spectacular format of the Sprint World Orienteering Championships and here titled as 13th Simone-Niggli-Challenge, an annual event organized by OL Regio Burgdorf in honor of the worlds’ best orienteering runner Simone Niggli.
Both days the event centre will be located in the Gemeindezentrum Bremgarten bei Bern, which can be reached easily by BernMobil Bus 21 in 13 minutes from the main railway station of Bern.
